At Conception Structurelle, we were hired for a complex project involving the reconstruction of a cracked concrete wall. This project highlighted our ability to manage technical challenges while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
Challenge: Rebuild a cracked concrete wall at high risk of collapse.
Solution: After assessing the situation, we concluded that the issue was likely due to a significant amount of drainage water behind the wall, greatly increasing the loads it had to bear. We also suspected that the wall had foundational deficiencies, a hypothesis that was confirmed after demolition.
We planned the intervention and provided clear guidelines based on an engineering plan. As the demolition progressed, we discovered that the wall had been built without a foundation or drainage system. Faced with this finding, the client decided to completely demolish both walls and rebuild them using concrete blocks. This required a complete revision of the planning and a swift response to mobilize different teams without impacting the client’s or our company’s schedule.
